Oxford Street, Xmas lights
Here are some pics from Oxford Street and the Christmas Lights, taken tonight. I think they are very nice this year. My mobile phone camera doesn’t do justice to the lights.
xmyrxn - it is a shame that the Routemasters had "retired"! The new red buses are not the same and the Londoners have not yet worked out how to stand in them so more people can get on the bus. Your profile picture, I recognise the character from when I was a child but I can’t remember his name. Plz put me out of my misery and tell me.
Potatohead – hope you will go up to Oxford St this weekend. It will probably me complete madness since it is the last weekend before Xmas but I guess it will be an experience as well (plz blog about it). Merry Christmas !
Hiya Lizze - Thanks for your kind comment. Love the London pix, really atmospheric.
Must be a lot more happening in London than here. In the city things change every second. In the countryside the seasons have been repeating themselves since the dawn of time.
Lizzie, I enjoyed your blog. Quite a while ago I lived and worked in London for 6 months and loved it. One of my great sadnesses was watching them put up all those wonderful looking lights. I left before they lit them. My friends told me that they lit them on the very night I left. i hope one day to visit London at Christmas time.

They look really good. Must be very cool the christmas in London. I've only been there in the summer.
Thanks!!
I will try to take some better pictures. It was kind of magical tonight with the Christmas light.
I did what many other tourist did - up with the camera and snap away ... it doesn't happened very often.
London is both magic and madness @ Xmas time.
I love Oxford Street, as well as all the rest of London. Even in Germany news told that the last Routemasters are "retired" now. What a pity!
Best regards from Cologne, Germany ;-)
